Clifford Etienne files civil suit against Mike Tyson

By Patrick Reed

LAS VEGAS (NV) -- Legal troubles continue to follow boxer Mike Tyson. His latest court problem stems from a February 22 incident in which he allegedly assaulted heavyweight contender Clifford Etienne. Etienne has filed a civil suit against Tyson seeking damages of two million dollars in physical damages and an additional ten million dollars for emotional distress.

Outside the Clark County Courthouse a tearful Etienne claimed, "I mean one second we're shaking hands and then a bell goes off and he goes crazy and starts beating the crap out of me. I tried to defend myself but he wouldn't stop. After I fell down someone made him back off. That's not right...I didn't do anything to him."

When asked by a reporter why it took five months for Etienne to file a suit, he made reference to a recent security tape of Tyson beating up two men in a hotel lobby. "I saw the tape and the night he gave me a beat down came rushing back to me. This man needs to stopped, I mean that was the worst forty-nine seconds of my life." Etienne then broke down into uncontrolled sobbing.

Legal counsel for Etienne made a plea to the public, "We have it on good authority that there were several cameras in the area when my client was assaulted. If anyone was able to capture this assault on tape please send a copy to my office."

Although Tyson could not be reached for comment, his lawyer claimed Tyson had an alibi, "I don't who this complainant is but Mike had a fight that night. It would be impossible for Mike to have assaulted this man. This is just another attempt for some parasite to stick his claws into one of greatest human beings in the world."

Patrick Reed, a new and welcome contributor, is currently trying to secure an agent and/or publisher for his novel "Change of Venue." Caregivers for Mr. Reed say that he is making progress each day and will likely be a functional human being in the next few years.
